ABOUT THE ROLE
An opportunity to utilise your degree and experience in Early childhood to forge a career within the Early Childhood Intervention space. Through the NDIS, Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) provides support to children aged 0-9 years of age who have a disability or developmental delay, by supporting their families/ carers to develop the skill sets they require to participate and function within regular day to day activities.
With a strong knowledge of childhood development, the Early Childhood Intervention Practitioner works closely with young children and their families to access the supports the child may need including:
- Providing families and carers with information on mainstream and community providers and support networks
- Engaging with Early Supports Intervention or access to the NDIS according to the National Disability Scheme Act (2013) and Best Practice National Guidelines in Early Intervention.
ABOUT YOU
- Degree in Early Childhood/Teaching
- A minimum of four years’ experience working within early childhood
- Experience and understanding of the needs of children and their families with disabilities or developmental delay including milestones and behaviours.
- Ability to carry out formal assessments and undertake appropriate observations to determine possible development delay and possible required intervention.
- Demonstrated skills in time management, organisation, reporting and setting priorities.
- Willingness to undertake further training
