How we help turn NDIS funding into
happier, healthier lives.
Functional Capacity Assessments
A Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA) evaluates an individual's physical and/or mental abilities to perform specific tasks, often related to work or daily living. Conducted by Optimum Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist, we assess a participants strengths and limitations in areas like mobility, cognitive function, and endurance. The results help tailor interventions to enhance the individual's ability to function effectively in various environments AND assist in applying for support needs from the NDIS.
Manual Handling Assessments
A Manual Handling Assessment evaluates the physical tasks involved in supporting a person with a disability, such as lifting, transferring, or repositioning them. Conducted by Optimum Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists, this assessment identifies the risks to both the person with the disability and their caregivers. The assessment may lead to recommendations for equipment, training, or adjustments to the environment to support safe manual handling practices within the NDIS framework.
Assistive Technology and Equipment Trials
Assistive Technology and Equipment Trials involve testing and evaluating devices or tools designed to support individuals with disabilities in their daily activities. These trials allow participants to try out various types of assistive technology, such as mobility aids, communication devices, or adaptive equipment, to determine what best meets their needs. The process helps ensure that the chosen technology is effective, comfortable, and compatible with the user's lifestyle before a final decision on the most suitable assistive solutions is made.
Supported Independent Living Assessments (SIL)
A Supported Independent Living (SIL) assessment evaluates the needs and capabilities of a person with a disability to determine the level of support they require to live independently in a shared or individual living arrangement. The assessment considers various aspects of daily living, including personal care, household tasks, medication management, and social participation.A SIL assists in developing a tailored support plan under the NDIS, ensuring that participants receive appropriate levels of assistance to in their independence and quality of life.
Supported Disability Accommodation Assessments (SDA)
A Supported Disability Accommodation (SDA) Assessment is an evaluation to determine specific housing needs of individuals with disabilities. We assess the participants physical, cognitive, and sensory impairments, along with their ability to perform daily activities, to identify the most suitable housing options that support the participants independence, safety, and overall quality of life.
We help people achieve goals and build real independence.
