Managing the safe movement and handling of individuals who may have mobility difficulties or use a wheelchair for mobility.
Assessment Includes
1.
Assessments of Participant and Their Required Transfers.
Evaluate the physical condition and mobility of the patient, considering their ability to participate in the transfer process and any specific needs or challenges the client’s and assisting staff my have.
2.
Development and Implementation of Manual Handling Plan
Develop a training program that includes proper techniques for transfers, the correct use of equipment, and communication strategies to ensure the safety and comfort of the individuals being moved.
3.
Ongoing Training of Participants and Carers/Support People.
Regular training sessions for participants and their carers/support people. These sessions should cover a range of topics, including proper body mechanics, safe transfer techniques, and the use of assistive devices and equipment
